Apparently Mrs. F took exception to my last post titled “Rooms With a View.” In her words, it was nothing but a bunch of over-stated, histrionic, whiney-compliney goulash. In her exact words: “the doors and windows are Energy Core so they are very energy efficient which makes them rather heavy but will save us a lot of money in the long run in utility bills. And the view to Cypress Peak is still there. The deck stretches all across the back of the house (facing the street and the mountains) with a beautiful ‘unimpeded’ view. Plus the doors are 12 foot doors so from the center they open to the right and left leaving a clear view."
Okay, so maybe the Mrs has got a point, but a very small one and I still think she’s protesting a bit much. But things have been a little tense lately with multiple subs on the job and the bills rolling in and lots of heap big decisions like what color to paint the fascia and does the drywall come in before the tongue-and-groove ceiling or vice versa?
In any case, Mrs F says she’s going to start cracking the whip on the subs which is fine by me because that means fewer stripes for me. If Mrs F were in charge, they would have finished this thing by Valentine’s Day. Apparently Mr F is soft on crime and deadlines.
In his defense, things were really rolling for awhile. One day last week they had five trades on site: Heating/Cooling, Plumber, Framers, Electrician, and the Painter. The Stone/Stucco guy even showed up for a brief consult. It’s a small town, so the subs all know each other and they actually get along.
